ETF

ETF is short for exchange-traded funds. They are a type of investment fund that may contain stocks or bonds. They can be quite diversified and usually have a low management expense ratio (MER). ETFs are traded like stocks on stock market and may track a particular index. An index is a section of the stock market. An index might have 50, 100, 200 etc. different kinds of stocks or bonds from particular geographical regions or sectors e.g. S&P 500, S&P TSX
